On the outside I wasn't super sure what to expect from this place. I'd heard good things, and well their Yelp rating is excellent. The minute we got our bread I was in heaven. Good quality olive oil and balsamic for the bread. Next we ordered the grilled calamari, and veal. My mouth is literally watering just typing this out.
Their cocktails are phenomenal. Who ever heard of an Italian place having incredible martinis?!? Oh wait, like duh. Do yourself a favor and get one with the blue cheese olives.
Our first experience was so amazing that I had to bring friends. So, about a week later we came back for my birthday. This time we tried several other apps, and got the veal meatballs (I Italian and I like veal, feel free to try and judge me.) This place made my birthday great, down to some of the be cannoli's you have ever tasted.
I'm already planning my next trip here, because I can't get enough of their food. -

Food: decent
Service: eh
I've heard great things about this spot and live down the street so thought I'd give it a try. Unfortunately walked away unimpressed and that's mostly due to the lack of good service. If I had good service this would be a 4-star review.
Our waiter forgot about us for 10-15 minutes when we first got there, brought me the wrong drink and then forgot to put a request in the system to omit olives from my dish - which meant I didn't even start eating until the rest of my table was done. He didn't apologize once and actually did not check in on us a single time throughout the meal. The only reason I got to order a second drink was because I hailed him down and then he didn't bring it for 15+ minutes.
Food was okay, I could make it at home. I did enjoy the bread that they bring though! Overall, would consider coming back even if it is pretty overpriced for the food itself, just would not have this same waiter again. -

Came here on a Friday evening for dinner recently. It was a beautiful day so I'm really happy we were able to get outdoor seating! Unfortunately as a result I didn't end up seeing the interior which from many of the reviews seems like it's worth checking out.
We started off with drinks and per the waitress's suggestion I decided to get the Palmadora ($13). It was a nice refreshing drink but honestly not sure if there was much alcohol in it cause I didn't feel anything from it at all.
They start you off with warm bread and olive oil which was pretty good. I had read that the portions here are huge so we got 2 main dishes to share. We ordered the 8 finger cavatelli (supposed to be $18.95 but we paid $25.70 because we added veal meatballs and substituted vodka sauce for marinara) and chicken Marsala ($19.95). The chicken Marsala is really good! It's perfectly flavored and I loved the balance of meat with the pasta. I don't like dishes with mostly pasta and very little meat but this was perfect. The cavatelli on the other hand I thought was just ok. I liked the vodka sauce which was nice and creamy. However it was a whole lot of carbs and only like 4 meatballs even though they charged us extra for it. Also I think almost $19 for straight up pasta is way overpriced. I would not order this again if I come back. The portions for both of these entrees were just right. I think their appetizers are quite large (from what I observed from other people's orders around us) but the entrees are normal.
Overall I probably wouldn't come back because I think this place is overpriced and I've been to better Italian places in Chicago. Our waitress was sweet and helpful but at times we did have to remind her about things prob cause it was a bit busy. I was able to find free parking in the neighborhood but they also offer valet which is $11. -

I think Club Lucky was my favorite bar of the evening. The decor is very 1930s amd very colorful. The smell of awesome Italian food filled the air
I had the bees knees and the palmadora to drink. Both were recommendatiomns from our tour guide.
Both cocktails were very good and I enjoyed learning about the history of the place. The bar tender was very good at mixing the drinks for us.
I'll be back for the food some time soon! -

Went for a quick lunch and stayed for well over an hour. Starting with delicious bread and oil, we moved on to a fantastic salad which we split. We ordered eggplant parmigiana and salmon piccata. I've never seen such a tower of parmigiana and it was delicious. The salmon was perfectly cooked and presented on a bed of sautéed spinach. So good. We had absolutely no room for dessert but had a leisurely cup of cappuccino. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. Our waitress was spectacular.
